Neurofeedback (or EEG-Biofeedback) is a non-invasive, brain-based intervention that trains the brain to function in healthier, more efficient ways. With the assistance of a trained clinician, neurofeedback therapy allows an individual to engage the brain’s innate capability to self-regulate and optimize itself. Over time, dysregulation is corrected leading to improved cognitive function, greater emotional stability, and increased quality of sleep.
A self-regulated brain improves the functioning of the central nervous system, mental performance, emotional regulation, and physiological stability. Neurofeedback is likened to taking your brain to the gym where you get better self-regulation, stabilization, and optimal functioning.
Neurofeedback (or EEG-Biofeedback) is a sophisticated brain training tool designed to help the brain function in healthier, more efficient ways. Neurofeedback is training your brain to self-regulate. Self-regulation allows your brain perform smoothly and function efficiently. This helps your nervous system to shift to appropriate states, stabilize uncomfortable and dysregulated physiological symptoms, and strengthen appropriate brain performances. Neurofeedback is also called EEG Biofeedback because it looks at brain activity via the EEG or electroencephalogram and gives feedback to your brain regarding activity and performance. Neurofeedback trains your brain for optimal health and performance.
To begin, the client will list to music which is usually accompanied by video. Non-invasive sensors are placed on the scalp with conductive paste (this does not hurt!) by the trainer who initiates the session. The Neurofeedback system measures the differences in the electrical signal emitted from the scalp. This electrical signal is measured 256 times per second, by voltage changes and is read through the specialized software which initiates an interruption in the audio/video stream as it detects when a change is about to happen. This small minute interruption is enough to warrant the individual to notice.

The NeurOptimal® system measures the differences in the electrical signal emitted from the scalp. This electrical signal is mathematically measured 256 times per second, by voltage changes and is read through the NeurOptimal® software program which initiates an interruption in the audio/video stream as it detects when a change is about to happen. Combining the exclusive Dynamical Neurofeedback® brain electrical signal measuring with captivating audiovisuals, Training with NeurOptimal® allows an individual to observe their brain activity and optimize their mindset. It is a unique tool for catalyzing personal transformation.
Is a great tool to have as part of a wellness program as it is designed to promote a flexible-and-resilient mindset. No matter where your lifestyle takes you—from athletes to executives to students, performers or artists, no matter the age– an optimal mindset helps you to be your best.
As the field of modern neuroscience continues to advance, we discover more and more about the natural flexibility and learning capacities of the brain. Once thought to be a fixed organ, the brain is actually able to consistently learn, adapt, and change in ways we never thought possible! With the use of cutting-edge neuro-technologies, including ISF Neurofeedback Training and QEEG brain mapping, we are able to help clients train their minds to operate in ways that better serve them. By focusing on the client’s needs, we are able to strengthen areas of dysregulation, break habitual thought and emotional patterns, and bring a sense of equilibrium to a person’s life.
Neurofeedback is a state-of-the-art technology developed over several decades that trains the brain to function more efficiently. In a nutshell, it is a process by which brain waves are monitored and feedback designed to improve brain-wave patterns is provided to the individual. Brainwave training affects the whole body. The ‘feedback’ process used results in improved health and well being.
Neurofeedback can benefit a wide variety of concerns. Clients report experiencing, among other things, improved relationships and more enjoyment from life. Neurofeedback is regularly used to achieve peak performance by athletes, students, executives, artists, seniors and anyone wanting their brains to function more efficiently.
Neurofeedback has benefited recently from significant advances in technology and can now enhance multiple facets of neurological efficiency. Brainwave patterns can be reconditioned to their natural state of balance; stronger, healthier, and more resilient patterns.
The brain responds to ‘information’ on a conscious and nonconscious manner, and typically without any assistance. We have the ability for complex processing, and this is typically determined by how efficiently it functions as a self-organizing dynamical and transformational system. We find most tasks like breathing, eating and digestion are ultimately performed without our focused attention! Once we have learned a task such as reading, writing, riding a bike and even driving we rarely think about how we do it again. We have the ability to smoothly move from task to task in a seamless, flexible and resilient way. When we are able to constantly make decisions and respond without concern we are using an optimal brain.
Neurofeedback gives us an opportunity to receive operational ‘information’ (feedback) and our brain will learn from this information. It is a specialized and advanced form of feedback that gives information back to you about the activity of the brain as it is occurring. The electrical activity generated by the Central Nervous System (CNS) processing can be detected by sensors placed on the scalp and displayed on a monitor in real-time.
